Kid Care CHIP Wyoming
Kid Care CHIP offers health insurance coverage for Wyoming's children and teens through age of 18 that are uninsured and meet income and eligibility guidelines.
Eligibility Requirements
To qualify for medical assistance under Wyoming's KidCare program, the following eligibility requirements must be child must be a Wyoming resident, US citizen or lawful permanent resident who has lived in the US for 5 years or more. Your child may not be a dependent of an employee of the State of Wyoming and may not be a resident of an institution. Your child may not have had other health insurance within the last 30 days unless insurance was involuntarily cancelled. Your child must not be eligible for EqualityCare (Medicaid) and should meet the family income guidelines.
Waiting Periods
There is a 30 day waiting period for children of families who have voluntarily cancelled previous health insurance.

Kids Care CHIP focuses on preventive health care and includes benefits for

- Inpatient and outpatient hospitalization
- Lab and x-ray
- Prescription drugs
- Mental health services
- Dental & Vision services
- Physical Therapy
- Other health benefits
Health Plan Options
The same health plan is available to all eligible members, regardless of geographical location within the state of Wyoming.
Premium Payments, Co-Payments and Coinsurance
There is no premium charged to eligible members. There are currently no enrollment costs or monthly premiums for Kid Care CHIP. Families do have to pay co-payments for some services. Some services like check-ups and immunizations are free. Co-payments are capped at $200 per family per benefit year.
Program Length, Enrollment and Renewal
Each child is eligible for health care coverage for a period of 12 months. At the end of the 12 month period, eligibility will be re-determined.
