Eligibility Requirements
To qualify for New Mexi Kids, children must be under the age of 19 and also reside in the state of New Mexico. They must also be a US citizen or legal U.S. resident and fall within the income guidelines set forth by the program. Income requirements are based on 235% of the federal poverty level. New Mexi Kids uses a presumptive eligibility policy and your coverage will begin as soon as the application is receive. Coverage will be terminated if it is found that the child is not eligible after the completion of the application review.

Premium Payments, Co-Payments and Coinsurance
Premiums and co-payments are determined by income guidelines. Children with family incomes under 185% of the federal poverty level will have no premiums or co-payments. Children in families that have income 185% to 235% of the federal poverty level may have minimal co-payments for certain covered services.

Program Length, Enrollment and Renewal
New Mexi kids offers 12 months of continuous coverage. Prior to the termination date of your health plan, you will be required to submit a renewal application that will be used to review your current eligibility status.
