Eligibility Requirements
Uninsured children who live in Missouri and are under the age of 19 are eligible for MC+ for kids. The gross family income to qualify is based on 300% of the federal poverty level. You must have been uninsured for a minimum of six months (some exceptions may apply).
Waiting Periods
Normally coverage will begin 30 days after the application is approved. If the family was previously covered by a health plan, they will have to wait 6 months after the previous coverage has ceased. There can be exceptions to the rule and it is advised you contact MC+ for Kids to determine your waiting period.

Health Plan Options
All children enrolled in MC+ for Kids will receive the same level of coverage. Some families will choose coverage through a health plan in their area; others will receive care from approved providers. The MC+ plans are managed care health plans and require the selection of a primary care physician.
Premium Payments, Co-Payments and Coinsurance
Families will pay no more than 5% of their annual income for premiums in a year. Families will no longer be required to pay premiums for the rest of the year if their out of pocket expenses exceed their premiums. Co-payments may be required for some covered services.
Program Length, Enrollment and Renewal
The program runs continuously until the age of 19. Should a family experience a change in income, or family size, they must contact MC+ for Kids for an adjustment to the monthly premium.
