More State Children's Health Insurance Programs
Children's Medical Security Plan was established by the state of Massachusetts to provide health coverage for children under the age of 19 who are Massachusetts residents at any income level, who do not qualify for MassHealth (except MassHealth Limited), and who are uninsured.
Eligibility Requirements
To be eligible for the plan, the child must be a resident of Massachusetts. The child must be uninsured for basic medical and dental care and not eligible for these services through MassHealth. Eligibility does NOT depend on income of immigration status.

Health Plan Options
With your ID card you can obtain services through a network of medical facilities who accept CMSP subscribers. The plan is run by MassHealth and administered by Unicare.
Premium Payments, Co-Payments and Coinsurance
Some families, depending on their income, may have a small premium and will have to make a small co-payment for certain covered medical procedures. Monthly premiums range from $0 to $38.99 per month and co-payments range from $2 to $8 for non-preventive care, dental care and pharmacy.
Program Length, Enrollment and Renewal
Eligibility is reviewed annually and you will receive a renewal application prior to the annual termination date of your coverage. You will need to respond to questions regarding your status within the specified time frame or you may lose your child's coverage.
