Nationwide Health Plans Added Benefits

Aside from being insured by one of the largest insurance and financial services companies in the world, members of a Nationwide Health Plan in California are entitled to many additional benefits and services. Enrollment in a Nationwide health insurance policy requires membership in the California Farm Bureau Federation which entitles members to many different products and discount programs. In addition to the benefits through your CFBF membership, as a health plan member you also have access to the following features and programs.

24-Hour Medical Help Desk

Operated 24 hours a day, 7 days a week, you can call this helpline to speak with a registered nurse that can answer your health care questions. By describing your symptoms or concerns to this licensed health care professional, you can ascertain if you need to seek immediate medical attention, or you can wait to see your doctor. This helpline is also available to refer you to Nationwide participating physicians when you are traveling outside of your area.

NHP Life Plus

Available for a small addition premium that can be added to your monthly health insurance premium; you can add the protection of a term life insurance policy with benefit amounts ranging from $25,000 to $100,000. These policies renew every 5 years and are available to persons age 20-60.

CashBack Plan

This is a supplemental medical expense product that can pay you money to assist you in paying your medical expenses if you are insured under a high-deductible health plan. In the event of an unforeseen illness or injury, this policy will pay you $300 per day for every day you are hospitalized, up to a maximum 30 days per year or 300 days lifetime. An additional premium is required for this supplemental benefit.

Benefit Solutions

For as low as $10 per month, this feature offers discounts on many health care related items, and discount pharmacy benefits are included under the $13 a month plan. This includes discounts of up to 60% on eyewear and contacts obtained through a participating provider, as well as eye exams and Lasik surgery. Discounts to chiropractors, dentists, hearing aids, vitamins and travel and entertainment are also available through this program.
