The Medicare Health Plans offered by WellCare are Medicare Advantage plans and offer prescription drug benefits and other health care coverage. The WellCare network of participating physicians and hospitals is selected based on a review and must meet WellCare's high quality standards and stringent requirements. The Medicare Health Plans provide comprehensive health coverage with little or no monthly health plan premiums, as well as minimal co-pays. Other benefits include vision and hearing care, free preventive care and worldwide emergency coverage.
WellCare offers their Medicare Part D Prescription Drug Plans nationwide. Available in all 50 states and the District of Columbia, plan benefits under their Prescription Drug plans may vary by state and region. Depending upon availability, plans may offer deductibles of $0, prescription co-pays of $0 for generic and $15 for formulary brand name prescription drugs, and initial coverage limits as high as $2,400. Based upon plan design and geographic location, monthly premiums can range between $20 to $50.
WellCare also provides Family Health plans in the above-referenced states. WellCare Family Health plans include programs for children such as the Healthy Kids plan, the Husky plan and the PeachCare health plan. These government-sponsored health plans require enrollment in your State Medicaid program. Benefits under the children's health plans are offered to children who are not eligible for Medicare and do not have other private health insurance or group sponsored health insurance. An example of the coverage offered through this program is the Staywell plan that is available in Florida. The plan that gives you all of your Medicaid benefits but also includes vision and dental benefits as well as annual physicals, travel coverage and family planning.
