Aetna Health Insurance Plans & Coverage

Aetna Life and Health Insurance Company offers individual and family health insurance, small group business health insurance, mid market group health insurance, large group health insurance and Medicare supplemental health insurance in multiple states across the U.S. Not all of their products are offered in all states.

Aetna offers individual/Family health insurance in Arizona, California, Connecticut, Delaware, Georgia, Illinois, Maryland, Ohio, Pennsylvania, Texas, Virginia, Washington D.C and New Jersey. Most recently, in January 2007, Aetna announced that they will begin selling individual health plans in Colorado that can be purchased directly from an Aetna representative or through a insurance licensed in the state and approved to sell their products. They will offer a variety of medical insurance plans in this new market, including PPO plans, HSA Compatible high-deductible plans and two basic hospital plans. This further expands the states in which they offer non-group products, in addition to Missouri and Tennessee which were added to their list in December 2006.

Aetna offers group health insurance in all 50 states. This includes small group health insurance (2-50 eligible employees), Middle Market group health insurance (51-3,000) and National Group Health Accounts (3,000 +)

Small group health insurance is provided to employers with 2 - 50 eligible employees. Health plans are also available for medium size companies with between 51 and 3,000 employees, as well as National Account options for companies with over 3,000 employees.

Aetna also provides Medicare Supplemental insurance options in certain parts of Arizona, California, Georgia, Illinois, Maryland, New Jersey, New York, Ohio and Pennsylvania.
