Which South Carolina health insurance plan can I offer my employees as part of their health benefits? Business has been pretty slow but maybe the company can shoulder paying the premium of an affordable group health insurance plan.
As one of South Carolina health insurance carriers, BCBS now offers plans for groups of two to up to 50 employees. It has a full-coverage plan, High-Deductible Health Plan (HDHP), and another plan especially for small businesses. The insurance company also added cost-reduction factors to make the plans affordable but still have most of the coverage offered in other regular plans. The insurance carrier’s HDHP is created to pair with another plan called Health Reimbursement Account (HRA). It works like a Health Savings Account, only with HRA the out-of-pocket expenses are reimbursable instead of being deposited to a savings account. If you are a member of the South Carolina chambers of commerce, you can check out one of its new plans which is just an addition to the existing group plans offered especially for chamber members. Uninsured individuals can also opt for the new plans that have basic coverage but are offered at a lower premium. You can ask a South Carolina health insurance agent for more information on these plans. You can choose a plan with either a low premium or one with a higher premium but with better coverage depending on your company’s capacity to pay the monthly dues.
