I 59 AND SPOUSE 49 STARTED GROUP IN 1994 (aprox) My spouse has an uncurable heart/lung disease. My rates started at $460.00 a month/100%coverage. In 1997 it went to $965.00 a month. 2009 it went to $1425.00 a month with less coverage. Is this legal? It seems so ridiculous to me and everybody that I have spoken with. What is the highest amount a person has paid for their group insurance that you know of? H E L P Any suggestions on what I should/can do? thanks, unemployed me
In California, small group health insurance approval for coverage is guaranteed, regardless of health status. However, you must still be able to verify that you are a qualified small business with at least two employees or owners of the company.
