I am in California and currently unemployed. I have no money except for the $20,000 worth of Certificate of Deposit in the bank which I am saving for a house down payment. Because I’m pregnant, I should have my health needs taken care of. But this requires a health insurance for me to see a doctor and for child delivery. My boyfriend has his own health insurance through his work and claimed that his child could be covered in it. Will my boyfriend’s health insurance also cover for my health in my pregnancy and childbirth? What is the policy of health insurance in California concerning bonds? Will having a cash bond makes me ineligible to claim for coverage in my boyfriend’s insurance or will it just take me higher co-pays?
However, with your present status as an unemployed, pregnant woman, with no definite source of income, you may qualify for state sponsored health insurance in California as well as with other state provided medical services (such as Planned Parenthood and Medi-Cal). Just walk in to any of these clinics and discuss your situation. You may even consider other state’s social services out there like California’s WIC for you and your child’s nourishment. Only make sure that the OB-Gyne you’ll go to accepts state insurance. Answer by general public - June 19, 2009 @ 6:55 pm No CommentsNo comments yet. Leave a comment |
