Are there any free or affordable health insurance for students? What other options do I have? I’m a full time college student and my dad’s insurance recently dropped my coverage.
In case your university doesn’t offer health insurance for students, getting an individual student health plan for yourself is another option you may want to consider. If you’re healthy and have no pre-existing conditions, I’m sure you won’t have any problems getting an affordable health plan. You can try contacting a local health insurance agent who would probably set you up with a budget insurance plan. Although limited, you’ll get health insurance reasonable for your needs and means. When choosing what plan to take, you should take what type of coverage you need and other details into account. You can probably choose from an HMO, PPO, or other types of health plans.
