I would like to be a surrogate of any kind for a single person or a couple of any kind. Most IP’s are wanting me to have health insurance, I don’t. I know most insurance co would like for you to not be pregnant before signing up and that they don’t pay for surrogacy. I was wondering if there were any insurance plans out there that do cover maternity. I’m not finding any and honestly I find it disgusting. I was not planing on telling the insurance co. it’s for a surrogacy, would they cover me if after a few months I do use it for surrogacy?
There are some programs out there that offer limited coverage and discount plans for pregnant women that might be able to better guide you. One is MaternityCard and the other is Maternity Advantage. We are not associated with these companies, but have heard them mentioned throughout our forum. Use your own judgment in reviewing what they offer. Trying to secure and apply for health insurance when you are planning a surrogacy is just as challenging as it would be if you were already pregnant. The other option is to secure employment that offers health insurance with maternity benefits. Answer by moderator — June 6, 2009 @ 11:14 am No CommentsNo comments yet. Leave a comment |
