Need To Find A Chiropractor

I am wondering where and how I would find out what chiropractic doctors are under Group Health in my area. Thanks!

Your insurance company or employer should be able to provide you with a list of chiropractors that accept your group health plan. That is assuming that your group health insurance coverage provides benefits for chiropractics. To get a list of doctor’s under your plan, call the customer service number on the back of your insurance ID card. Your insurance company may also offer an online directory. In which state do you reside and what is the name of your insurance company? Perhaps we can provide you with a link to the online directory, if there is one available.

  1. I have been going to a chiropractor for many years now paid for by my Bluecross Blueshield of group insurance. Now I have began to worry about something regarding using a chiropractor. Let’s say I had an accident maybe in my car and I pulled something in my back. Maybe I would then go to a chiropractor even if my MD had not sent me there for treatment. Now, what would happen then if I applied for individual health insurance. Would that be seen as a preexisting condition even if my regular doctor had not been involved? I don’t really know what rules are in place for chiropractic services, are they considered medical professionals? Or are they considered ‘alternative’ practitioners? This could be an important issue in the future for me. I would hate to give up my trips to the chiro, but on the other hand you have to be really careful today not to do something you will regret.
