Is there really such a thing as an affordable health plan? I’m a healthy 25-year old. I don’t really need major coverage; I’m just looking for health insurance that covers dental.

Yes, there is an affordable health plan out there. If you’re young, healthy, and don’t have any major health problems, you can purchase an insurance plan at a relatively cheaper price.

As for dental coverage, I would suggest you pay for that in cash instead since it would probably be more cost effective for you. All you really need is a health insurance plan that would give you major medical coverage. If you get a high deductible it means that you’ll have low monthly payments, and that translates to an affordable health plan.

Another option is getting a High Deductible Health Plan (HDHP) with a Health Savings Account. That way, the money you put into the account accumulates over time. You can use the savings for any medical expense any time you need.

In searching for an affordable health plan, I think consulting with local health insurance agencies or agents would be the best place for you to start. They can give you the information about the insurance companies they sell for and the plans available to you. That way, you get to check out all your options. Also, asking for help would save you from doing the legwork yourself.
